A Good Day

Having a good day.. mostly this afternoon.  I was sick Monday and Tuesday.. I really don't get why it happens.. We went out to dinner two days on the weekend.. must have been that.. I was so sick yesterday could barely do more except for "you know what with a stomach bug type thing" and I'll spare the details.. Today has been good.. Had a rough night.. lots of weird dreams.. not sure what that is from but this morning I felt better.. took it easy and then this afternoon tackled some things.. Last night there was no way I could have cooked much less eaten anything but tonight I made dinner and actually had some.. Yay!!

Tomorrow I have to get with it around here.. lots to do.. when I'm out for a few days the place is a wreck.. the guys try and do the best they can but not like I do it.. AND I have to say I have not been all that good the last several months.. just have to move on the days I feel good.  Seeing the Oncologist on Friday.. not looking forward to that.. but I have to.. I know everything is ok but I still have to go..

Paige sent some cute pics of our afternoon tea when I was at her house.. their thank you to me for helping them with things.. Hopefully I can post some pics.. ok.. it's not letting me and too late for me to think about how to do it.. I'll work on it tomorrow..

Party On

I think I partied on a bit much yesterday.. Even though I took a nap yesterday and got to bed early enough I have been tired today.. Yesterday was kind of emotional for me.. I think the older we get the more our family and friends mean to us..  I got to talk to my three kids.. received gifts and cards.. I don't "need" anything but they gave me things they knew I would enjoy and cherish.. so sweet.. and even more sweet to hear their voices.. same with my Mother and sister.. had an email from my brother.. Pictures above of our dinner out.. gifts from hubby and kids..

My Birthday

I had a beautiful birthday.. had a very lazy day.. we had scheduled an early dinner.. when I went downstairs there were presents for me.. shouldn't have been since I already got my netbook.. but my sweet husband got me more.. Candy, a cute, cute wine glass.. and a beautiful picture frame.. then we all went out to dinner.. all lovely.. also had sweet calls from my kids and other family.. All my gifts were wrapped in purple paper.. so I put a purple bow in Angel's hair.. Peter says she doesn't like it but I think it's cute.. he took some pics on his iPad so I'll have to get them and post later... Thanks to all for the wonderful messages and love!

Echo

We had such a great dinner out with friends at Echo (http://www.restaurantecho.com/contact.htm).. A little spendy and if you look at their menu you'll see there are no prices.. usually a sign it's expensive.. but we all had wonderful dinners.. a few appetizers and desserts.. All so good.. and also the best company ever!!  I love my Pittsburgh friends.. They have all been friends with Peter for years and years.. and have welcomed me and taken me in.. So nice.. We get together often.. we don't talk on the phone much but we do email.. having these good friends here help me not to miss Oregon so much. 

Angel hasn't been groomed yet.  The vet said to let her rest for a few days before more "trauma."  I put a bow in her hair last night.. she looks a little goofy and didn't like it but I thought it was cute.  Peter took a picture of her with his phone.  Notice Max's feet in the background.  He and Angel are buddies and he's a good dog sitter!

My Day

The guys are gone golfing.. I could easily sit back and do nothing all day.. I mean really.. I have most days to myself.. the difference today is that I don't have to cook dinner.  I have a ton of stuff to watch on my DVR.. so I'm going to do some timer cleaning and organizing.. I can watch my shows and then when it's a commercial I'll set the timer and go at something.. This could be really fun!!  Think I'll take some before and after pics.

Happy Day

I was able to pick up Angel yesterday afternoon.. she did not have anything wrong with her paws or legs.. they did her routine checkup and kept her longer to clean her teeth.. Poor little thing was so spaced out from the anesthesia.. she is just fine today.. even ate some breakfast and took a walk.  The vet said to let her rest a few days before doing a grooming appointment.. so I'll wait on that until next week.

The guys are going golfing tomorrow.. I'll have fun here.. I love my family but I also love having some time to myself. 

Here is something cute.. my sweet daughter, Paige, gave me this cute little stand.. it's to put jewelry on.. here is what it looks like with nothing on it.

So cute.. I put some jewelry on it.. I have tons more.. but it all won't fit.  When I was a preschool teacher I collected a lot of jewelery.. the kids loved to see what Teacher Martha had on for the day because they knew it had something to do with the theme for the day.  I don't wear the preschool earrings anymore.. in fact gave most of them to my girls..   I just put on this little stand the things I wear most often.. I love it!!  here it is filled up.  Earrings, bracelets and necklaces.

We had the most wonderful day.. Peter took today off.. we went out to run some errands.. I got a really cool portable usb wi-fi thing for my netbook.. we got some covers for the new iPads.. and then the wonder of it all.. we went to Red Lobster for lunch.. I've been begging to go forever.. and today was my day.. when the food came they accidentally gave it to the wrong table.. Peter had his food and I had nothing.. we didn't complain or anything.. but the manager came over and said my food was on the house.. awesome!  My special meal and it was free!! 

We are pretty full from lunch.. so no cooking dinner.. if anyone wants something Peter said he would make bacon and eggs.. fine with me.. I brought home leftovers from my lunch.. such a deal.. free lunch and no cooking!

I do have another wonderful daughter, Erin, who makes the most beautiful things for me.. I don't have any pictures right at the moment.. but she loves to knit and crochet.. she has also made some earrings, slippers etc. for me.. gotta love her!!



Angel

Little Angel had to go to the vet today.  Last night Max walked her as usual and when he came in he was carrying her.  He said all of a sudden she started limping.  He put her down and surely enough she was limping.  I checked her all out and couldn't find anything wrong.  My thought is that she stepped on something.  I called the vet and it was really too late to take her in.  She is due for her routine checkup so they said to bring her in this morning.. they could do the usual stuff and check out her paws.. so that is where she is now.. just waiting for the call to come get her.  She was not happy about going but will be glad to get home.. and by the way she slept all night and was NOT limping this morning at all.. next will be a grooming appointment.. she is pretty scruffy with all the snow and rain we have had.

The above picture is during some outdoor time and she was very on guard about anything happening nearby!  Looking a little scruffy in that one too.  I'll post a pic after she gets groomed soon.

Baby Love

Things just get more exciting waiting for the new grandbaby.  Last night my husband booked my flight for birth time.  I'm staying for 3 weeks.. I hope that's not too long.. but when you don't know when the baby will arrive it's hard to figure it all out.  Does anyone have suggestions on this? 

When I was there last time we got all the baby furniture put together.. pretty tiring but we had tons of laughs.  This next time will just be a waiting game for the baby unless he comes early.  I'll be there 5 days before the due date so we'll see.

Hooray!!

I'm back from my Mammogram and everything is GOOD!  If you have had breast cancer they tell you right then and there if things are good or heaven forbid bad.  I only had to go in once.. no further testing needed until next year.. I've had clear exams for 4 years now! Me so happy!

Feeling Good Again

After two days of resting.. actually tossing and turning, having weird dreams.. I'm feeling good today.  I am not sure why I was feeling sick.. could have been a stomach bug.  My Mom reminded me that Peter was sick last Monday and we had similar symptoms so maybe that's what it was.  Whenever I feel sick I am so worried the old problems are coming back. 

I'm still going to take it easy today.. Peter did the shopping.. I got the laundry caught up yesterday.  I just want to do a little cleaning and then cook a nice dinner.. nothing too difficult.. spaghetti and meatballs with salad and fruit. 

Having my Mammogram tomorrow.  I never really worry about it too much but it's a whole different thing once you have had breast cancer.  Even though I had a small tumor and it was removed by lumpectomy I always feel things in my self exam.  My doctor told me just to feel for changes but I feel changes all the time.. I think it's all scar tissue.. some from the surgery and some from radiation but it's weird not to know what it is.. last year the radiologist said she thought she could see something at the tumor site under the scar tissue.. Ultrasound didn't show it enough so I had a MRI.. I've had lots and lots of MRI's, CT's etc.. and this was by far one of the worst.. wouldn't wish it on anyone.. Hopefully that won't be a repeat this year.

Sick Again

I haven't felt sick in quite a while.. a couple of weeks anyway.  I woke up during the night sick.  Got some meds down and had to work on keeping them down.  Not sure what brought this on.  I was going to the salon this morning and had to cancel my appointment.  Thank goodness my stylist is understanding.  I hated doing that to her but I knew I wouldn't make it.  The meds are helping but I'll probably be in bed most of the day.

What a Perfect Day

I am having the most wonderful day.  I'm still feeling good.. it's so awesome to not feel sick.  Feeling sick everyday for almost 4 years has taken it's toll.. I am getting so much done and enjoying myself doing it all. 

Talked to my Miss Paige online.. can't wait to get back there to meet little BBot.  I love him already.  I bought a bunch of stuff from the registry that they didn't get as gifts.. I didn't tell Paige.. it will be a surprise package.. I'm thinking of driving down.  I can take some things to them and I won't have to have an open ended plane ticket.  She has gift cards to buy the breast pump she wants.. all she needs is a swing.  She's going to keep looking at the consignment shop.. if they don't get one I'll buy it later for them.. What an adventure!!

Home Sweet Home

I'm home from Paige and Danny's.  We had the most wonderful week.  Paige and I spent two days getting all the furniture put together.. Her friends put on the most beautiful shower for them.. everyone was so generous.. they are all set with clothes, diapers etc.  I bought them some practical gifts.. I loved being there and I miss my Paige.. but it's good to be home.
